Last Mom Newsletter

I have been avoiding writing this newsletter as the news is sad. Mom passed away Sunday at 9:20 in the morning surrounded by all her children and many of her grandchildren.
The last week many of her family and friends came to see her. It is truly a blessing that we had this last week with her. Her spirits were good and she was chatty and loving. Some of her comments over the last week between her periods of sleep: --My life is wonderful --I am so lucky --Don't touch my Bernie --Your hands may be cold but you have a hot butt! --I can't believe dying is so easy..I don't think everyine is surrounded by so much love with their family and in their home. --Her advice to her grandchildren was for them to love one another and to keep the faith. --As she lay in bed we decorated tea rooms and visited New Mexico. --She wanted to hold hands and kiss us. We played beautiful music and lit candles.
She lived life with joy and fought for every minute. When time came to leave she said she was ready to go. We are thankful that she died peacefully and without pain.
She was truly an example to us all. She was our mother, friend, mentor and hero. The pain of loss is deep. To lose all four in one swoop is very hard.
I thank all of you for letting me send the newsletter as it has been a help to me...healing.
We will receive friends and family from 10:00 am -12:00 noon on Saturday at Carmons. There will be a service at 12 noon followed by burial at the Veterans cemetary with my Dad.
